Question 1

Does Blur Face upload my photos to the cloud?

Accepted Answer

No. Every photo and video stays on your device. The AI face detection model runs locally - there are no servers, no accounts, and nothing leaves your phone.

Question 2

Is Blur Face free?

Accepted Answer

Yes — Blur Face is free to use on both platforms with no watermarks. On Android the app is ad-supported; a one-time purchase removes ads and unlocks extra features. On iOS photo blurring is free with a daily limit, while video blurring is a premium feature available via subscription or one-time purchase — with a free trial to get started.

Question 3

Can I blur faces in videos too?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Blur Face detects every face frame-by-frame in your videos and applies your chosen effect across the entire clip. You can blur all faces or pick which ones to hide.

Question 4

Is video processing fast?

Accepted Answer

Blur Face is great for short movies, but processing longer videos takes time. Because the AI analyzes every single frame locally on your device to protect your privacy, it is a CPU-intensive process. There are options to save some time, but in general, video processing is not a short process.

Question 5

What blur styles are supported?

Accepted Answer

Gaussian blur, mosaic/pixelate, solid cover (rectangle, circle, eyes-only), and a free-form brush for masking anything beyond faces.

Question 6

Does Blur Face work without internet?

Accepted Answer

Yes - completely offline. You can blur faces on a plane, in the subway, or anywhere with no signal.

Question 7

Will the original photo quality be preserved?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Blur Face exports at full original resolution with no watermarks. Only the face regions you chose are modified.

Question 8

Which phones are supported?

Accepted Answer

iPhone running iOS 17.6 or later, and Android phones running Android 11 or later. Modern devices process a 12 MP photo in under a second.

Question 9

What if I need more control over video blurring?

Accepted Answer

Blur Face focuses on photo blurring, brush blur, and basic video face blurring. To blur faces or other moving objects with more control, try TrackBlur, our dedicated video blur editor with timeline controls, motion tracking, and custom blur regions.
